Outside the therapeutic setting, I derive immense joy from spontaneous creative pursuits, including art, music, and theater. Additionally, I indulge in occasional moments of leisure, engaging in video games, board games, and tabletop games when time allows. If you are seeking a therapist who prioritizes diversity, creativity, and a customized approach to healing, I invite you to explore this therapeutic journey with me. Eager to connect, Matthew
Meet Our Team
Matthew Freeman, M.A. (they/them)
Greetings, I am Matthew, a dedicated therapist here at Beacon of Hope Counseling. It is an honor to extend my services to you as we navigate the path to well-being together. Possessing a Master’s degree in Drama Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in Cambridge, MA, my journey as a Massachusetts native has been marked by diverse fieldwork experiences.
From crafting arts curricula in Worcester to aiding children in crisis around Boston and counseling LGBTQ+ adults facing diverse challenges, I bring a wealth of varied and relevant expertise. The common thread in my work, spanning different diagnoses and regions, is trauma and its embodied presence. While Drama Therapy is a central tenet of my practice, I firmly believe in integrating various methodologies and theoretical frameworks to ensure optimal results for each unique client.
