Through a psychoeducation approach, you’ll learn a variety of coping skills derived from different treatment modalities to create your own in toolkit that can aid with anxiety, depression, and emotional processing around life stressors and interpersonal relationships. Each week will consist of at least 1-2 skills taught in group with time in between group ideally utilized to tryout and practice the skill(s). About the Facilitator: Emily Monahan-Morang, M.Ed., LPCC is a psychotherapist and sport & performance coach who specializes with working with high performers and achievers, neurodivergent (specifically high masking ADHD and Autism), and LGBTQ+ populations. Through a culturally informed and trauma informed practice, Emily utilizes a wide range of interventions and orientations to meet the needs of her clients. Ideal Clients: This group is perfect for anyone who: Want a group that will aid in supplemental treatment to individual talk therapy. Desire skills for mental health but don’t currently have access to individual therapy Wants better skills for managing their mental health. Enjoys learning from a psychoeducation style/approach. Why Join the Group: Have more than on therapeutic modality informing the group. Many coping skills groups follow one modality (e.g., CBT, DBT) with their group. My preference and style is to incorporate more than one therapeutic modality, as one modality is not going to meet every need or all types of clients. Build connection learning in a group setting. Group work allows the opportunity to build a sense of belonging and shared experience.
